ביום שבת, ה- 8.3.14, תיעד שאדי סידר, מתנדב בצלם בחברון, מתנחל שניסה לטפס אל גג ביתו של סידר ולהוריד ממנו דגל פלסטין שהתנוסס עליו. המתנחל נתקע בגדר התיל שסביב הגג.תוך שהשניים מתדיינים, הסביר המתנחל לשאדי שגג הבית בעצם שייך לו משום שהוא חלק ממדינת ישראל. חייל שהגיע למקום דרש גם הוא משאדי להסיר את הדגל. החייל ניסה להצדיק את דרישתו להסיר את הדגל בטענה שאין באזור דגלים אחרים, זאת למרות שבצילום ניתן לראות בבירור דגלי ישראל בסביבה.
כעבור זמן קצר, הגיעו לבית חמישה חיילים נוספים ודרשו שוב משאדי סידר ומאחיו, עבד אדהם סידר, להסיר את הדגל, כשהם מאיימים לעצור את שאדי סידר אם יסרב. האירוע תועד על-ידי תחקירנית בצלם מנאל ג'עברי ועל-ידי מתנדב פרויקט המצלמות מחמוד אבו חייה.
בצלם מדגיש כי אסור לחיילים להפקיר את בטחונו של פלסטיני ולהותיר אותו להתגונן לבדו מפני מתנחל המנסה לחדור לביתו הפרטי. לא זו בלבד שהפלסטיני לא זכה להגנה, שעה קלה לאחר מכן הגיעו חיילים למקום ותבעו ממנו, תוך איום במעצר, להוריד את דגל פלסטין מגג ביתו הפרטי, זאת בשעה שדגלי ישראל רבים מתנופפים באזור באין מפריע. החיילים, כמי שמופקדים על הביטחון, מחויבים להגן בראש ובראשונה על הפלסטינים, שהם האוכלוסייה המוגנת בגדה. בוודאי שאסור להם להעניק סיוע למתנחלים הפולשים לבתיהם של הפלסטינים ולרצות גחמה של מתנחל שדגל פלסטין המונף בחברון צרם לעיניו.

On Saturday, the 03_08_14 , recorded Shadi Cedar, B'Tselem volunteer in Hebron , settler trying to climb to the roof of Cedar and download from Palestinian flag flying above it. Settler hangs barbed wire fence around the roof. While the two litigants , explained settler Shadi roof house actually belonged to him because he was part of Israel . A soldier on the scene demanded it Shadi remove the flag . The soldier tried to justify his request to remove the flag , claiming that in other flags , even though the photograph clearly shows the flags of Israel and the environment.
A short time later , they arrived at five other soldiers and demanded again Shadi Cedar and his brother, Abd Adham Cedar, remove the flag , threatening to stop Eddie arranged if he refused . طلب منهم اوراق اعتقاله من المحكمه ولم يزيلوا العلم منعهم
